AC Athletic were always the better team as they beat Asdee Rovers who are finding the going tough despite an encouraging start to the season. In fact Asdee had the first real chance of the game when in the 6th minute John Gorman went close with a shot that Shane Harty did well to save. AC Athletic looked to be getting into the game and in the 20th minute Barry Walshe was on hand to head home the lead goal.
It was clear that ac were on top with Mark Walshe and Conor Harty outstanding at the heart of defence. Then AC struck for their 2nd goal in the 36th minute when the Asdee keeper misjudged a cross and Derek Carroll shot home to lead 2 0 at the interval. Asdee despite a lot of honest endeavor just could not create any worthwhile chances and once Barry Walshe scored his second and his sides third the game was over as a contest.
AC could have scored a couple of more when Derek Carroll and Barry O'Grady their excellent new signing had good shots saved by Kelly. It was impressive by AC Athletic who will do well this season while Asdee will struggle unless they can start scoring goals.
