AC Athletic had their very first game of the season at Mounthawk Park on Saturday evening and they began on a losing note going down 2-1 to Classic FC.
The game was played in torrential rain and unfortunately one of the AC's Conor Diggins broke his leg in an accidental clash. Everyone involved in the game around the county wishes him a very speedy recovery.
The Classic scorers were Mark Tagney and Mike Collins. The AC scorer was Stephen Goggin. This win moved newly promoted Classic to the top of Division 1A.
