Tralee Celtic got back to winning ways thanks to a hard earned win over battling AC Athletic in this Castle Bar Cup replay, at Mounthawk Park on Friday evening. It took a goal from Stephen Fox O’Sullivan to ensure that Tralee Celtic advanced to the next round and they look side capable of winning a cup.
Tralee Celtic’s league ambitions appear over and they are now under the managemnt of Simon Moore , who stepped in when Ken Robinson opted out so much has changed in club who now has one of the youngest committee’s in the league with the honorable exceptions of Bernie O’Sullivan and Larence Dunne who are keeping a rein of the youthful enthusism of the lads!
AC Athletic depend so much of the free scoring John Mike Dooley but for the second time, David Moore hads managed to keep him scoreless and he is without doubt one of the finest centre backs in the league.
In fact it Moore who gave Tralee Celtoc the lead but Conor Diggins levelled the tie with an absolute screamer before half time as the sides retired 1-1.
However Tralee Celtic came good in the second half, thanks to a cracking Fergal Maunsell goal and then cute as a fox, Stephen O’Sullivan stole in at the back post to score the insurance goal for Tralee Celtic www.kerrydistrictleague.ie
